August 2019 Update
From
The Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust
& The Wilhelm Reich Museum
August 2019
Fellow supporters of the work of Wilhelm Reich:
I write in the wake of the highly successful 34th summer conference at Orgonon, this year on the topic of Reich's writings on work-democracy. The conference was attended by 30 people from four countries.
Including for the first time a contingent of seven international visitors from the Centro Reichiano de México in Mexico City. It also featured again the screening for two nights in Rangeley of the documentary film Love, Work and Knowledge: The Life and Trials of Wilhelm Reich. Many of our international visitors for the first time toured the Reich Museum, located in the Orgone Energy Observatory building, which celebrated the 70th anniversary of its opening on 8 July. We are proud that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings.
With your support we have revived the journal Orgonomic Functionalism, volume 7 of which appeared this spring. Order it here.
This journal is dedicated solely to publishing previously unpublished work by Wilhelm Reich, along with long out of print and hard to find items such as his 1939 Bion Experiments on the Cancer Problem. In recognition of a very large and growing audience for Reich's work in Spain and Latin America, 5 out of 9 articles in this issue appear both in English and in Spanish translation, particularly Reich's very rare 1939 pamphlet On the Natural Organization of Work in Work Democracy.
Things are moving at the Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust and we need your support! Other pressing projects still need your help, including structural repairs to the 70-year-old Orgone Energy Observatory, and the revitalizing of our long-term endowment fund. Our campaign for the long-term preservation of the Reich Archives continues as well. Won't you consider helping out with these important needs, to help keep up the positive momentum of the Trust? Please give generously. And please circulate this appeal to all you know who value Reich's work.
Thanks for your generosity and commitment to Reich's legacy.
Warmly,
Dr. James Strick
President, The Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust Board of Directors
p.s. I will soon be writing to invite you to join the 70th anniversary celebration of the opening of the Orgone Energy Observatory!
