Welcome to The Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust.

This Trust was established by Wilhelm Reich, M.D. (1897-1957)--a pioneering psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, research physician and scientist--in his Last Will & Testament to "secure transmission to future generations of a vast empire of scientific accomplishments" and to "safeguard the truth about my life and work against distortion and slander after my death."

These are responsibilities that the Trust takes seriously and this website is one manifestation of that commitment. Here you will find factually accurate information about Reich's life and work; substantial excerpts from his books, research journals and bulletins; a bookstore that offers the largest assortment of Reich's publications available anywhere (over 7000 pages of materials); and information about the Trust's numerous activities regarding The Wilhelm Reich Museum, the Archives of the Orgone Institute, and the publishing of Reich's books.

To understand Reich's legacy in a factual, intellectually honest way, it is essential at some point to read and study Reich’s documentation of his own life and work, i.e., Reich’s life and work in his own words, his own narratives, and not in the narratives and opinions of anyone else.

Reich documented his life and work in many ways: articles, monographs, books, personal diaries and journals, correspondence, laboratory notebooks, published research journals and bulletins, audio recordings, photographs and films, unpublished archive materials; as well as in his development of a laboratory and research center called Orgonon in Rangeley, Maine. And no other entity except the Trust has the responsibility--designated by Reich himself-- of preserving and making available these valuable primary sources.

Regrettably and tragically for historical truth, distortions, factual inaccuracies and outright slanders about Reich persist to this day. Reich's work has been misrepresented, maligned, mysticized and politicized by detractors and admirers alike. And today anyone can create any written or visual content about Wilhelm Reich and post it on the Internet where it can be seen and shared by anyone. The creation, availability and perpetuity of unreliable and factually incorrect Internet content trivializes Reich's legacy and renders it unrecognizable.

Regarding the Trust's website, with all of its factually accurate information and primary materials, we are reminded of something Reich said in his closing remarks at the Second International Orgonomic Convention at Orgonon in August 1950: “We have a good thing in our hands," he said. "We can do a lot of good."

We feel the same way about our website and we hope it will be a valuable tool for deepening your appreciation and understanding of Wilhelm Reich's remarkable life and legacy.
