Wilhelm Reich Museum Bookstore
Wilhelm Reich, M.D. (1897-1957) was a prolific author of books, articles and monographs for nearly four decades, from the 1920s and 1930s in Austria, Germany and Norway, to the 1940s and 1950s in the United States. In Europe, many of Reich's publications were banned by the both the Communist Party and the Nazi Party. Much of Reich's literature was also banned and burned in the United States in the 1950s.
On August 23, 1956, several tons of ten hardcover books authored by Reich, plus fifteen years of his published scientific and medical research journals--all of which had been banned from circulation by a U.S. Federal Court in 1954--were burned in New York City under the supervision of the Food and Drug Administration. And in 1960, three years after Reich's death, his literature was burned again under FDA supervision.

our Bookstore, the result of the collaborative efforts of The Wilhelm Reich Infant Trust and renowned New York publisher Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
