March 2019
Dear Wilhelm Reich Trust Supporter:
The new year has brought several developments to the Reich Trust community -- some sad and some exciting.
You may have heard by now of the death of Mary Boyd Higgins, long-time Reich Trustee. For nearly six decades Mary worked tirelessly on behalf of the Trust, managing Orgonon, organizing conferences, bringing Reich's work back into publication and taking on countless tasks that most of us will never know or appreciate. The New York Times obituary did a laudable job of highlighting her extraordinary life. She was an inspiration to me personally, and I will miss her.
One powerful story Mary told my students that resonated with them was when she physically confronted FDA officials to keep them from burning some of Reich's books that were excluded from the destruction order. Many of us talk about speaking truth to power, but how many actually act in its face when the stakes are so high?
The impact of Mary's work will be felt for years to come, including in the growing interest in Reich's work internationally. I was fortunate to observe this first-hand in Mexico City, where I was invited recently to give a two-week seminar on Reich to The Centro Reichiano de Mexico.

Please consider a gift to the Trust in honor of Mary and to advance Reich's work globally.
Preparations are underway for the 2019 Summer Conference, which will focus on Reich's writings on Work Democracy. Please join us July 8-12 at Orgonon as we host several speakers and participants from the US and abroad, and for the annual benefit concert by Andy Kahn on Sat. 13. Contact info@wilhelmreichtrust.org for details.
Your donation will support this convening on a timely and important topic.
I think it is fair to say that we are in a new era of preserving and carrying forward Reich's legacy. I hope you will join me and the greater Reich community in doing so, for it can be done.
With gratitude,
Dr. James Strick
President, Wilhelm Reich Trust Board of Directors
